At SeeDigital, we’ve always been passionate about creating compelling videos that capture your brand’s story. But recently, our passion has expanded to encompass the health of our planet as well. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been featured in a new case study by the Institute of Sustainability Studies (ISS) after completing their Business Sustainability Diploma program.
This program opened our eyes to the significant environmental impact of traditional video production. From transportation emissions to energy-guzzling equipment and wasteful practices, the industry has a lot of room for improvement.
Our first steps in sustainable video production
That’s why we’re committed to becoming a leader in sustainable video production. We’re implementing a range of strategies to minimise our environmental footprint. Our actions will be focused on reducing – waste, material use, energy consumption, CO2 emitting activities, reusing – equipment, mostly through renting, props that were bought for other projects, set dressing elements, recycling all plastic, paper, metal, batteries or end-of-life equipment. When we do need to buy equipment, we will always choose the refurbished first, if available.
We also focus on fostering and growing inclusiveness and diversity on our sets and in our teams. At the same time, we look to work with partners who share the same values.
We recommend to our clients as well to introduce sustainability-related elements in their videos, such as reusable bags and water bottles, green behaviours from the people portrayed or featured, and encourage them to mention their beliefs and strategies on in this field.
We believe that creating impactful videos shouldn’t come at the expense of the environment. By embracing sustainable practices, SeeDigital is committed to delivering high-quality productions while minimizing our environmental impact.
This is just the beginning of our sustainability journey. We’re always open to suggestions, learning from leaders in the field, trying on new ideas and approaches and seeing what other are doing, so we can apply the best practices as well. So if you have ideas or advices, please don’t hesitate to send them at office@seedigital.be.
We’re excited to continue learning, innovating, and pushing the boundaries of eco-friendly video production. Stay tuned for updates on our progress and how we’re making a difference, one production at a time!
